The current version of the Macintosh Online Bible (v.4.2.1) behaves properly in Sierra Mac OS 10.12.2 and higher.
This CD runs native on your Macintosh and contains 31 English Bible versions including ESV, HCSB, NKJV and Amplified (plus the NIV, NAS, NRSV and NLT on the Deluxe CD). It also contains 10 ancient languages texts (Greek, Hebrew and Syriac), 3 sets of Greek and Hebrew Lexicons, many Dictionaries and commentaries. Although it contains less material than the Windows program it has the advantage of being designed for Mac OSX and has the look and feel of a typical Mac application.

If you are looking for the most cost effective, high quality Bible program available for your Macintosh, you need look no further. Our Online Bible program, and many of its Bible, Lexicon, Note and Topic modules (detailed below), can be downloaded and used free of charge. And many of our users who own some of the higher priced Bible study programs for the Mac have told us they prefer and use the Online Bible.
While our Starter Pack and many modules can be freely downloaded, we also offer two CDs containing significantly more material and offering a great value. The Deluxe CD (for $79.95) includes all of the material shown on this page except the Amplified Bible and RVR60, while the Classic CD (for $39.95) includes all of the material shown on this page except the, NAS95, NASB, NIV, NLT, NRSV, Amplified, and RVR60. We offer a special $25 upgrade price (plus shipping) for owners of a previous Classic or Deluxe CD. If you order the latest Deluxe CD at the special price, we will include a mailer for you to return your old Deluxe CD (required because of the royalty versions included).
One of the primary reasons for the version 4.2 update, was to make several new Bible versions available, such as ESV, HCSB, Message & Amplified, and to remove the restrictions on the number of modules that can be loaded at any one time. The program was also updated so, upon launch, it automatically checks to see if a new release is available and, if so, notifies you. Because we prepay the royalties for ESV, HCSB, NKJV & Message, we only make them available on our version 4.2.1 CDs. To get these newer translations, you must buy a CD containing them. If you own a version 4.2 (or later) CD you may pay the royalty for the Amplified and/or RVR60 modules in our store and we will send the module(s) to you by email.
If you have one of the newer Macs that does not have an optical drive, we can supply products on a USB flash drive for an additional fee of $10. To order, go to our store, or for additional information, contact Dave Pohl (email@example.com).

We hope you will download and try our free Starter Pack. It allows any English speaking Bible student to easily get started studying God’s Word. You can even later download and add several additional modules from our web site at no charge.
The Starter Pack (65.7 MB) is a simplified Installer package containing the Online Bible application, King James Version Bible, Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, Brown Driver Briggs Hebrew Lexicon, Treasuery of Scripture Knowledge, Clarke’s commentary on the Bible and Smith’s Bible dictionary.
If you have any problems while using the Online Bible program, you should first consult the Online Bible Help (available via the Online Bible’s Help menu). Next, you may wish to consult the Frequently Asked Questions listed below. Of course, if either of these do not answer your questions, feel free to contact us by sending an e-mail message to firstname.lastname@example.org. If your question(s) are sales related, you can save yourself a little time by sending them directly to Dave Pohl (email@example.com). (The support team simply forwards sales related questions to Dave, just as Dave forwards support related questions to the previously mentioned support address.) Additionally, the above mentioned Mac support team does not answer questions related to our Universal (Windows/Macintosh/Linux) DVD, but you can send your Universal questions to Dave Pohl (firstname.lastname@example.org) and he will try to help.
On our Macintosh web page, grouped according to their principal language, is a listing of the modules available for use with the Online Bible for the Macintosh. Each language is subdivided by module type—for example: Bibles, Cross References, Lexicons, Notes (Commentaries), Topics (Apocrypha) and/or Topics (Books).
A Notes module contains the contents of a commentary or a set of user notes, and each individual note is always directly associated with a particular Bible verse. When the default Note set contains a comment for a particular verse, an asterisk appears next to that verse number in every Bible window, and you can click on that asterisk to open and read that note. Topics, on the other hand, contain a book or set of loosely related articles. A Topic is never associated with a specific verse—although it may contain one or more Bible references that can be clicked on to open a window allowing you to view a referenced passage—, but Topics are instead divided up by topic name. They typically contain a table of contents detailing the topics in the topic set.
All of the modules shown below are included on both CDs (except the NAS95, NASB, NIV, NLT, and NRSV, which are only on the Deluxe CD; and the Amplified and RVR60 which are on neither CD and only available by special order).
